April Events….Spring is almost here!

We all look forward to rug hooking events.  The camaraderie, inspiration and lots of laughs with people who share a love for rug hooking are the reasons we cherish our gatherings.  April is a busy month for us.  We will be vending at the Oxwood Rug Hooking Artisan’s hook in on April 4th in Woodstock and the OHCG’s annual conference April 17-19 at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville.

The annual conference is being hosted by the Orillia Sunshine Rug Hookers and Area 11 Branches and the theme is “Everything Under the Sun”.  If you are not a member or not registered, the rug display and vendors are open to the public on Sunday for a 10.00 entrance fee.   There are well over 800 hooked rugs on display and the largest gathering of vendors, each offering an abundance of rug hooking wool and supplies.   We will have a huge booth and plan on bringing as much as possible however things do sell out.  If you have your heart set on a certain pattern or wool colour, we encourage you to call or email us to preorder for pick up at the annual.  We will have it set aside for your convenience.  If you would like more information about this event or to register click on this link to the OHCG website…https://ohcg.org/agm-conference/

The studio will be closed for these two events including Thursday April 16th as we will be packing up the shop on this day.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

    1. Hi Celia. Click on this link for the dyed solid wools…it takes you to the brown, black neutral options. There are a few that would work well. The darkest options of Pewter, Lead, Spanish Moss would be great. It just depends on if you want cool or warm effect.
